“When little people are overwhelmed by big emotions, it’s our job to share our calm. Not join their chaos”

L.R. Knost

I am a Colorado Native and graduated from CSU with a degree in Human Development and Family studies then went on to pursue my Masters in Educational Counseling from the University of Phoenix. I have been a School Counselor for a total of 16 years in Douglas County School District (in the Parker area) in both elementary and middle school levels, this is my 4th year at FVE. Frontier Valley is an amazing community and I am excited for the opportunity to keep implementing new ideas and supporting students, staff and parents! I visit all classrooms each month to teach social emotional lessons to help students understand the power of their emotions, words and actions as well as teach them with tools in which to regulate them or ask for help when needed.

Another passion of mine is to sponsor the BIONIC teams (Believe it Or Not I Care) which is to create a more caring inclusive climate within our school with classmates as well as teaching students to give back to the community. I love being part of the team at Frontier Valley Elementary. On a personal note, my husband and I have two amazing girls and we all love to play games or be outdoors skiing or biking.
