“You may have tangible wealth untold; caskets of jewels and coffers of gold. Richer than I you can never be. I had a mother who read to me.”
― Strickland Gillilan

I am excited to be your child’s first grade teacher this year! I really enjoy teaching first graders because of the amazing growth and discovery that occurs throughout the year. My goal is to instill a love of learning in every child, by providing a safe and engaging classroom environment. After moving to Parker from Mountain View, California in 1999, I began my career in education in 2000 as a paraprofessional in special education. I discovered a passion for working with young children, so I attended the Adams State College Teacher Preparation program in Parker and earned a B.A. in Elementary Education with an emphasis in literacy. I taught first grade for three years at Pioneer Elementary, and have taught both first and second grades since joining Frontier Valley in 2010. When not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband Greg, and our 23 year old daughter Rachel, who is a graduate of CU, Boulder. In my spare time, I love to travel, stay active by walking or running, shop, try new restaurants, go to movies and plays, and read novels.
